Privacy Policy
How TypingMentor collects, uses, stores, and protects your information, including account data, typing analytics, AI personalization, advertising, and payments.
Effective date: 2026-07-08
This Privacy Policy explains how TypingMentor ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our website, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). TypingMentor is operated by Intellixio.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Information we collect
We collect information in three broad categories: information you provide, information generated through your use of the Service, and information collected automatically through technology on your device.
Account information
When you create an account, we collect information such as your email address, display name, username, profile details you choose to provide (for example, bio or links), authentication identifiers from sign-in providers if you use them, and account preferences including profile visibility settings.
Typing performance and analytics
When you complete typing sessions, we collect performance and session data, which may include:
- Words per minute (WPM), accuracy, test duration, and mode or lesson type.
- Keystroke timing, error locations, and session metadata needed to verify results.
- Ranked session outcomes, challenge identifiers, and leaderboard-related standings.
- Historical session records, milestones, and aggregated statistics over time.
- Configuration stored locally in your browser, such as typing test preferences and custom text, when synced or submitted as part of a session.
AI personalization data
To power personalized lessons, analytics, and Mentor Plus coaching, we process typing performance data and derived insights, such as weak keys, common error patterns, finger or word difficulty, consistency trends, and practice recommendations generated from your history.
Mentor Plus may also process prompts, questions, and feedback you submit when interacting with AI coaching features, along with the context needed to generate relevant responses.
Payment information
If you purchase a paid subscription, payment details are collected and processed by Paddle, our payment provider. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
Device and usage information
We may automatically collect technical and usage information, including IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, and diagnostic logs used to operate and secure the Service.
How we use your information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Authenticate your account and manage your subscription status.
- Record typing sessions, calculate statistics, and display progress and insights.
- Generate personalized lessons, drills, and AI coaching through Mentor Plus.
- Operate ranked mode, leaderboards, and public profiles according to your settings.
- Serve advertisements on the free plan through Ezoic and measure ad performance.
- Process payments and manage billing through Paddle.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues.
- Communicate with you about the Service, including support requests and important notices.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
AI personalization
TypingMentor uses artificial intelligence to analyze your typing data and generate personalized practice, insights, and coaching. This may include identifying patterns in your errors, recommending lessons, summarizing performance over time, and responding to questions you ask Mentor Plus.
AI-generated recommendations are produced automatically from available data and models. They are intended to assist your practice, but they may not always be accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific goals. You should use your own judgment when following AI suggestions, and you remain responsible for how you use the Service.
We do not use your private typing data to train public third-party AI models in a way that identifies you personally, unless we clearly disclose otherwise and obtain any consent required by law.
Cookies and local storage
We and our partners use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure usage, support security, and, on the free plan, deliver and personalize advertising.
Examples include:
- Authentication and session cookies required to operate your account.
- Preference storage for typing configuration and UI settings.
- Analytics cookies that help us understand how the Service is used.
- Advertising cookies used by Ezoic and its partners to serve, measure, and personalize ads on the free plan.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may limit functionality, including sign-in, saved preferences, or ad personalization.
Ezoic advertising and personalization
Users on the free plan may see advertisements served through Ezoic. Ezoic and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to deliver ads, limit repeat impressions, measure effectiveness, and personalize advertising based on your activity on our site and, where permitted, across other sites.
Ezoic may collect or receive information such as IP address, browser and device characteristics, pages visited, ad interactions, and inferred interests. This processing is governed by Ezoic's own privacy policies and partner disclosures, in addition to this policy.
Paid subscribers who receive an ad-free experience should not see Ezoic advertisements as part of their subscription benefits, subject to technical limitations and plan terms.
Third-party services
We use third-party providers to operate the Service. These providers process information on our behalf and are permitted to use it only as needed to provide their services to us, subject to contractual and legal obligations.
Third parties may include:
- Paddle: subscription billing, payment processing, tax calculation, and customer receipts.
- Ezoic: advertising on the free plan.
- Authentication providers, if you choose to sign in with a supported third-party account.
- Hosting, database, analytics, email, and infrastructure providers that help us run the Service.
- AI service providers used to power Mentor Plus features, where applicable.
Third-party websites or services linked from TypingMentor are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
Paddle payment processing
When you subscribe to a paid plan, Paddle acts as our merchant of record or payment processor (depending on your region and Paddle's role for the transaction). Paddle collects information necessary to complete your purchase, which may include your name, email address, billing address, tax identifiers where required, and payment method details.
We receive limited transaction information from Paddle, such as subscription status, plan type, billing period, payment confirmation, and customer identifiers, so we can grant access to paid features and provide support. We do not receive or store your full card number.
Paddle's handling of payment data is subject to Paddle's privacy policy and applicable financial regulations.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security.
- Account information is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward unless you request deletion.
- Typing session history and analytics are retained to support progress tracking, personalization, and ranked integrity, unless deleted as part of account removal or where law requires earlier deletion.
- Billing records may be retained as required for tax, accounting, and legal compliance, even after account deletion.
- Logs and security records are retained for a limited period appropriate to their purpose.
Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity that occurs under your account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which can include the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, object to certain processing, or receive a portable copy of your data.
You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise these rights, contact us. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
Account deletion
You may request deletion of your account by visiting our contact us page or through account settings where available. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize personal information associated with your account, except where retention is required by law, needed to resolve disputes, enforce our terms, prevent fraud, or maintain legitimate business records such as billing history.
Public profile content, leaderboard standings, and cached copies may take additional time to be removed from search indexes, backups, or third-party systems.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
